In which our plucky young hero had insufficient mojo.

So it turns out that yes, the show I didn't go to was actually pretty good. And the one I went to, well, at least three of the bands were okay.

Before I headed out to the Friday night show at the Drake, I wouldn't have thought it possible for people to dress insincerely. I felt organic and out-of-place, like a small adobe yurt in the middle of a square of eighty-storey Tokyo glass towers.

(On the other hand, at least this chunk of clay wasn't wearing a bowling shirt, and a NASCAR jacket, and a cowboy hat, and a pipe. Someday you're going to have to explain that to your kids, Bucky, and I only regret I won't be there to hear it.)
