In which our plucky young hero wants an illusion back.

When I first got to Toronto, I would occasionally see young people tooling around the city with huge backpacks and sleeping bags. And I would think, "Oh, cool, someone is backpacking it across Canada. I wish I had courage like that."

Now, when I see one of these backpack people, I think they're probably homeless. That backpack contains everything they own in the world. And there's a lot more of these folk than I first thought.

Prove me wrong? Please?
