I can understand that BBC Canada might want to have little interstitials, mini-commercials for branding purposes to tell the viewer, "Yes, you are in fact watching BBC Canada, your digital cable home of quality British programming. We're a little different... and, we like to think, a little better."

What I don't understand is how "cowboys holding their crotches while riding English beachballs" communicates this message.

Just another reason, really, I'll never go into advertising.
